The WPD Co-Responder Unit is a team of licensed, mental health professionals who partner with officers, firefighters, animal management and homeless navigators to respond to calls involving behavioral health, substance use and resource needs.
In 2024, the CRU recorded more than 4,000 community contacts through active calls, referrals, and follow-ups, keeping officers available for other emergencies on more than 640 of those calls.
Co-Responders make a huge impact by helping people in crisis connect with the care and services they need most.
