WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Earlier this month, WPD officers were first on scene at a house fire. The homeowner escaped safely with one of his two dogs, but the second remained trapped inside. After quickly assessing the situation, our officers rushed into the burning home, rescued the frightened dog, and reunited her with her owner.
Thanks to the Westminster Fire Department, the fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
This is just one example of the risks law enforcement officers take to protect others. On people’s worst days, we show up. During National Police Week, we honor the men and women who serve our community every day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
