WESTMINSTER, Colo – Westminster Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday evening.

Around 7:40 p.m. on May 17, officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of 92nd Ave and Perry St. Preliminary information indicates that the individuals involved knew each other and were returning home from an event when the vehicle, occupied by a 79-year-old driver, and the motorcyclist crashed. The 77-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

As a result, 92nd Ave is closed from Raleigh St to Newton St while the investigation continues. The cause is still under investigation, but preliminary information indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed at this time pending the investigation.

The identity of the motorcyclist will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

It should be noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
