Traffic stop leads to two arrests

WPD officers arrested a 44-year-old man and passenger after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and burglary tools in the vehicle.

WESTMINSTER, Colo -- On June 24, just before 8 p.m., WPD officers conducted a traffic stop near 84th Ave and Federal Blvd and spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view. Turns out the passenger also had two active warrants.

 



A 33-year-old woman was taken into custody.


An Adam's County Sheriff's Office deputy and K9 responded to assist. After a K9 sniff of the vehicle alerted to the presence of narcotics, officers searched the car and discovered:

  • Dozens of fentanyl pills
  • Meth and other drugs
  • Several license plates
  • A notebook containing “hacking tips” - Multiple bags of burglary tools, including bolt cutters, lockpicks, pry bars, gloves, masks and more


Dozens of fentanyl pills were recovered in the vehicle during the arrest.



Officers located several bags filled with burglary tools during the arrest.


A 44-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested and booked into the Adams County Jail. It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
