WESTMINSTER, Colo -- A man and a woman are now in custody after a traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal drugs and a gun inside the vehicle.

While on routine patrol last week, a WPD officer noticed a vehicle missing plates pulling out of a motel near 8700 Turnpike Dr. During the traffic stop, officers learned the 25-year-old male driver was currently out on bond for second degree murder. The 23-year-old female passenger was also wanted on three active warrants.

A K9 with the Arvada Police Department responded to assist and alerted to drugs inside the vehicle. Officers found drugs (meth and cocaine) in addition to a loaded gun, one loaded high-capacity magazine and a second magazine. Both suspects were transported to Adams County Jail.

It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Binoculars, magazines and other items located inside the vehicle.
