WESTMINSTER, Colo -- WPD officers arrested a DUI driver after they reportedly crashed into a median and continued driving all over the roadway early Saturday morning.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, WPD received a call about a suspected drunk driver who crashed into a median and continued to drive with two flat tires. WPD officers located the driver (still driving the vehicle) in an apartment complex parking lot near 80th Ave and Sheridan Blvd.

When the driver refused to stop, officers conducted a successful PIT maneuver (a Precision Immobilization Technique — a controlled way to spin out and safely stop a car) and took the 25-year-old driver into custody. The driver also had two active warrants.

To top it off, officers spotted several opened and unopened beer cans in plain view. Please, do better than this guy.

And thank you to the citizen who reported this.

It's important to note all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
