WESTMINSTER, Colo – Westminster Police are investigating two related crashes that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday morning.
Around 7:45 a.m. on March 18, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on the eastbound U.S. 36 on-ramp at Church Ranch Boulevard. Preliminary information indicates one of the drivers left the scene in their vehicle. Shortly after the first crash, WPD officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash at EB US 36 and Sheridan Blvd. The driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the driver who left the initial crash scene was involved in the subsequent rollover.
One eastbound lane on US 36 was shut down temporarily as crews worked to clear the scene. Preliminary information indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the rollover crash. This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be provided when available.
It should be noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
