WESTMINSTER, Colo -- It’s National Property and Evidence Professionals Appreciation Week!
This team may not seek the spotlight, but their work is essential to our daily operations at WPD. Our Property and Evidence Unit, made up of three employees and one administrator, handles the storage, safekeeping, and eventual release or disposal of items collected during investigations (evidence, personal property, etc.)
Think about it: every call involving evidence or found property is processed through them. That adds up to a lot. In 2025 alone, they handled 8,382 items and safely released or disposed of 8,675 items.
