WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Applications to apply for the 2026 Citizens Police Academy are now open. The class meets every Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Westminster Public Safety Center located at 9110 Yates Street. The 2026 Academy will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Wednesday, August 19 through Wednesday, November 4. The graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 12.
The Citizens Police Academy is an engaging and exciting way to gain insight into law enforcement and experience the daily operations within the Westminster Police Department and is designed to build a bond of mutual trust and respect between the Police Department and our citizens. The Citizens Police Academy offers direct contact with police instructors through lectures, hands-on experience, and demonstrations.
Please submit your application no later than August 4 or email the Special Events and Engagement Team. Applicants will be notified by email no later than August 14.
