Lengthy investigation leads to arrest of child exploitation suspect

WESTMINSTER, Colo -- After a lengthy investigation stemming from an online tip, WPD detectives arrested Shawn Jenkins, 34, on charges related to the Sexual Exploitation of a Child on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Jenkins is accused of possessing, distributing, and manufacturing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The investigation involved several search warrants and the review of thousands of images and videos involving minors, which detectives linked to Jenkins.
 
WPD officers arrested Jenkins last week and transported him to the Adams County Jail.
 
We’re sharing this case as a reminder to parents and our community about the seriousness of these crimes. Please talk with your children about online safety, what they may encounter online, and the importance of telling a trusted adult if something doesn’t seem right.
