WESTMINSTER, Colo -- A male is in custody following a disturbance early Thursday morning.
On Sept. 17 at around 3 a.m., Westminster Police officers responded to a townhome in the 9800 block of N Grove St for reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived quickly and observed a male actively firing shots into the air outside the townhome.
Officers were able to defuse the situation quickly and the 26-year-old male was taken into custody without incident. Several shell casings were located inside the townhome, with several dozen more found outside. No injuries were reported, and officers did not locate any significant property damage.
The male is suspected of being intoxicated and experiencing a possible crisis. After being medically cleared, he was transported to the Adams County Jail on suspicion of reckless endangerment and two counts of prohibited use of a weapon.
