Homicide Investigation
Last night around 7:00pm, Westminster Police were called to a parking lot in the 1200 block of 120th Avenue on a disturbance and shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The male was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. This investigation is still ongoing, however the preliminary information we have at this time is this was an argument between individuals who knew each other.
Krista Marie Mitchell, 38 years old, was taken into custody on the following charges:
Manslaughter
2nd Degree Assault
Felony Menacing
Ms. Mitchell will be housed at the Adams County Detention Facility. We do not have a booking photo available.
The identity of the deceased male will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
We believe there were several individuals who witnessed this incident and we are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Dawson 303 658 4022.
The arrest and filing of a criminal charge are merely a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
