WESTMINSTER, Colo -- That's a wrap on another successful season of our Mowing with Cops: Lawn Enforcement Program!
In partnership with Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service, a 501(c)(3) organization aimed at inspiring kids to serve others, this program provides free lawn care to elderly residents who need a helping hand.
Led by our dedicated WPD School Resource Officers, the program began four years ago in Westminster and continues to grow. This summer, eight amazing teens maintained more than 120 yards.
Once volunteers mow 100 yards, they earn their own mower, yard trimmer and leaf blower — provided by 'Raising Men & Raising Women.' This year we celebrated three graduates! This program is about so much more than just mowing lawns. It's about mentorship, service and connection.
