WESTMINSTER, Colo -- The Westminster Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred Friday morning in the area of Federal Blvd and 96th Ave.
On Jan. 23, just after 6:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located a 39-year-old man lying in the roadway. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man was ultimately pronounced deceased.
Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian walked out into traffic and was struck by two vehicles. Both drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation. At this time, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
Officers shut down SB Federal Blvd from 96th Ave to Green Ct for a few hours to complete a thorough investigation. The roadway has since been reopened.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Westminster Police Department at 303-658-4360.
