WESTMINSTER, Colo --- The Westminster Police Department is proud to partner with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers to help prevent identity theft.
Drop by the Public Safety Center (9110 Yates St) on Saturday, May 16 between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. for the 20th annual Shred-A-Thon! This is a free and convenient way to safely dispose of sensitive, personal documents. All donations will go to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers to help fund rewards for tips that lead to the arrest of criminals wanted by police.
Three bags/boxes of paper are allowed per vehicle containing the following:
- Confidential documents and records
- Medical documents
- Bank information
- Tax documents
- Credit card statements
Not Allowed:
- CDs and DVDs
- Hanging file folders
- Cardboard
- Electronics
More Info:
- You do not have to be a Westminster resident to participate
- This service is for individuals, businesses are not allowed
- Remove binders or other non-paper contaminants
- Paperclips, staples, and window envelopes are acceptable
- The event is FREE, but donations are encouraged and are tax deductible - cash, debit/credit, check, venmo, paypal.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists law enforcement agencies in identifying and arresting criminal suspects through anonymous tips. Tipsters can leave an anonymous tip by calling the Crime Stoppers tip line at 720-913-STOP (7867). You could be elligible for a cash reward.
