WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Back in April, a community member reported their vehicle stolen. Using investigative work and license plate reader (LPR) technology, a #WPD detective tracked activity tied to the vehicle all the way in Texas.
Working alongside Texas law enforcement, officers successfully recovered the vehicle and arrested a suspect connected to the case. Investigations like this often involve coordination across multiple agencies and states, and this recovery highlights the persistence of our detectives.
And their efforts continue to make an impact. In 2025, Westminster saw 569 reported motor vehicle thefts, compared to 852 during the same period in 2024. This case is just one of the many examples of all the work our detectives do behind the scenes.
