WESTMINSTER, Colo -- On June 25, just after 8:30 a.m., WPD officers responded to a local business for a report of an armed robbery. The caller advised a man had stolen items from the store and was armed with a knife.
An officer spotted the suspect near 72nd Ave and Sheridan Blvd, but instead of calling it a day, he decided to make a run for it. After a short foot chase, he attempted to hide behind a bush. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't very effective.
The suspect ignored repeated commands to comply and then aggressively advanced toward the officer. A TASER was deployed, and he was taken into custody without further incident. Officers recovered the stolen merchandise, and the 33-year-old was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
