WESTMINSTER, Colo -- WPD and partners are making the upcoming school year for local kids and their families a little easier.
On July 30, several police department employees dropped off tons of donated school supplies collected throughout the month to be distributed to local children in need.
From June 25 through July 29, school supplies donations were dropped off at various locations throughout the city for A Precious Child's Fill A Backpack program. Thanks to the generosity of community members, City of Westminster employees, and Westminster Fire and Police personnel, truckloads of school supplies were delivered to A Precious Child. In 2025, the organization distributed 11,700 backpacks through the program.
