This week, April 9th – 15th is National Animal Management Officer (AMO) appreciation week. Westminster’s AMO team includes AMO Supervisor Kelli Jelen, AMO Rae Pyeatt, AMO Chris Branigan, AMO Jonathon Meketuk, AMO Jillian Wurtz and AMO Olivia Kuhlman.
Last year, the AMO Team reunited 200 families with their lost pets and handled 5,700 calls for service while being 40% understaffed for most of the year. Most importantly, AMOs supported the Westminster community and Westminster Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Staff and parks teams by intervening with specialized skills and tools to manage vicious and dangerous animals making scenes safe.
