WESTMINSTER, Colo -- After 34 years of dedicated law enforcement service, Senior Police Officer Mark Pettee is officially retiring! And boy, are we going to miss him. His career began with the Castle Rock Police Department where he served for 10 years, followed by two years with the Elbert County Sheriff's Office. Officer Pettee joined the Westminster Police Department in 2003 where he has served for the past 22 years.

Throughout his WPD career, Officer Pettee served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Crisis Negotiator, Assistant Team Leader on the Crisis Negotiation Team, Narcan Instructor/Administrator, Officer Survival Instructor and Peer Support Member. His leadership, insight and unwavering advocacy for the profession have left a lasting impact.

In his retirement letter, Officer Pettee shared: "Serving this department and the community of Westminster has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the past 22 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated and courageous individuals I have ever known. The experiences I’ve gained and the relationships I’ve built here have shaped me both professionally and personally, and I will always carry those memories with me."
