20-year-old driver taken into custody for excessive speeds.

WESTMINSTER, Colo -- When you’re going double the speed limit, your excuses better be twice as good. This 20-year-old’s were not. While conducting regular speed enforcement over the weekend, a WPD traffic officer clocked this driver flying 85 mph in a 35 mph zone near 84th Ave and Clay St.
Officers took the 20-year-old driver into custody on several charges including:
- 40+ speed (85 in 35 mph zone)
- Reckless driving
- Speed exhibition
- Obstruction
- Resisting arrest
His vehicle was also towed.
It's important to note all persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
