WESTMINSTER, Colo -- WPD responded to a report of two overnight burglaries in a neighborhood near 96th Place last week. Officers arrived, reviewed footage and collected fingerprints from the scenes leading to a positive match to a potential suspect.
A few hours later, another neighbor called to report seeing the suspect back in the area.
Officers contacted a 32-year-old man who was found in possession of several stolen items described by the victims including laptops, a backpack, IDs, money and more. C'mon man...
He was taken into custody on suspicion of Second Degree Burglary, and the recovered property was returned to its rightful owners.
We love when neighbors look out for one another. Please remember to be vigilant and lock your doors and windows. With the holiday season upon us, be mindful of your package deliveries to prevent porch pirates.
It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
