WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Sunset Park’s four-legged fugitive has finally been apprehended ... and wow, did she make us work for it.
For MONTHS, our Animal Management Officers (AMOs) have been trying to wrangle this shy pup who frequents the area. With the help of Broomfield PD Animal Services, we set up a “Missy Trap” which is a large trap with an automatic door that closes once triggered. Let's just say the wind has not been our friend this week.
We set up a trail camera to monitor the trap and on the first day, she appeared, but a tumbleweed triggered the door to close. She remained at the trap most of the night trying to get the food. Day two, same story. Luckily a patrol officer was in the area and reset the trap.

In a matter of 15 minutes, our dog was caught around midnight! Animal Management Supervisor Jelen responded in the middle of the night to transport our friend to Foothills Animal Shelter for evaluation and a good meal. Overall, she seems to be in good condition. AMOs for the win!
