This incident happened in August, but the video offers a look at how officers work together to safely resolve a stolen vehicle case.
On Aug. 7, #WPD officers located a reported stolen vehicle near 72nd Ave and Tennyson St. As the driver attempted to leave the area, officers deployed stop sticks, disabling the vehicle. The driver continued for a short distance before stopping, and officers took the driver into custody without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia. Investigators also learned the driver had prior motor vehicle theft charges.
So, what may look like a quick stop on video involves lots of planning, communication and coordination behind the scenes.
