A few days ago, a WPD traffic officer stopped a driver near 112th Ave & Vrain St for speeding. Instead of cooperating, our guy decided to give a false name and then took off running toward the open space by the community college.
He made it all the way to the creek (gold star for effort) which is where our video picks up. He still got that speeding ticket, plus a few bonus charges for obstruction and resisting. Moments like this highlight how quickly a traffic stop can change and why our officers have to approach every stop with caution.
